| Early Childhood Program |
The Early Childhood Program is shaping lives early! NLDM understands the benefits of an early education for Deaf children (including those with additional disabilities or challenges). Designed to serve Deaf children three years and under and their families, weekly contact is made in the home or in NLDM's preschool location, to teach the children and the parents. Two year old children who will enter Happy Hands school as Pre-K students in one year may attend the school daily in preparation for Pre-K. Topics in the areas of communication, language, play/socialization, and life skills are presented and discussed with the families, and LESHO (Honduran Sign Language) is taught. Direct services are provided on an individual basis for each child in the program.
