NLDM believes in the importance of family participation and utilizes a team approach. Total involvement and cooperation from each students' family is expected. Parents are key players in the team working together to teach and train the students at Happy Hands. For that reason, sign language courses are offered, and regular parent meetings are held covering topics such as acceptance of deafness and discipline of children.
There is an open door policy at Happy Hands for parents to ask questions and share concerns relating to their child. The parent support services equip parents to communicate, nurture, and teach their children properly in the home, so they may reach their full potential in every area of learning.
